Control of algae and cyanobacteria

Ultrasounds

How do ultrasounds affect algae? All existing matter has a specific resonance frequency at which it can sustain damage.

The frequency on the Sonic Solutions® devices is set to match the resonance frequency of the algae vacuoles, gaseous microcells that contain vital functions and allow the algae to move up and down in the water column.

Thus the ultrasounds cause the vacuoles to implode, and the algae die. In the same way, they also degrade the molecules that make up cyanobacteria-produced toxins.Sonic Solutions® transducers also attack biofilms and kill some fungi like Fusarium and Pythium.

Humans, animals, fish, and other aquatic plant life, having different resonance frequencies, are NOT affected by ultrasounds emitted Sonic Solutions transducers.
